My interest in homes started long before Tarvin Home had a name.

Growing up, I spent many afternoons getting off the school bus at my grandparents’ house, where the television was often tuned to HGTV or DIY Network. I watched houses be reimagined, rooms transformed, and overlooked spaces given an entirely new purpose. Somewhere along the way, it taught me to look at things a little differently—not only for what they are, but for what they have the potential to become.

That perspective has stayed with me.

As my faith has grown, I’ve come to understand it in a different way. I believe God sees us not simply for who we are in a particular moment, but for who He created us to be. He sees the whole picture—the purpose, the potential, and what is still being shaped.

​

In many ways, that is how I have always seen homes.

​

I am drawn to the possibility within them: the floor plan that could function better, the original detail worth preserving, the material that will become more beautiful with age, or the room that simply needs to be reconsidered. Intentional design gives us the opportunity to take what is there, understand what it could become, and make thoughtful decisions that bring that potential forward.

That belief is at the heart of Tarvin Home and the way I approach every project.

I believe great design begins with intention. A floor plan, a finish, an architectural detail—each should have a purpose and contribute to the home as a whole. I am drawn to timeless architecture, natural materials, thoughtful craftsmanship, and spaces that feel authentic to the people who live in them. Rather than designing for a trend or a moment, I want to create homes that function beautifully, age gracefully, and carry meaning for the people who call them home.

My faith is the foundation of that approach. It reminds me that creativity is a gift, that the details are worth caring about, and that the opportunity to create something well is one worth taking seriously.

​

I believe there is meaning in making a home. And for me, to create with intention is, in its own right, a way to honor the One who created me.

That is the foundation of Tarvin Home.
